Off-the-shelf software assumes your process is roughly standard. The moment it is not — and for a bank, a plant or a distribution network it rarely is — you either bend the process to fit the tool or you build something specific.
We build the specific thing. That means we spend real time on your process before writing code, including the informal workarounds people rely on but rarely document, because those are usually where the value is.

Fixed price or time and materials?
Fixed price when the requirement is stable enough to specify — we will tell you honestly if it is not. Time and materials when discovery is genuinely still open, with a fortnightly re-forecast so you are never surprised by the total. We do not offer fixed price on work whose scope we do not yet understand.
What if we do not like the first release?
You tell us, and we change it — that is what the discovery stage is for. The first release exists partly to make the wrong parts cheap and early to correct.
Can you integrate with our legacy systems?
Yes, and it is most of the work. We would rather put a supported interface in front of a legacy system than replace it, because replacement usually carries more risk than value. Where a system has no usable interface, we will scope a middleware or extraction layer and price that separately.
